Some things to consider:

1.  Get a copy of the players physicals prior to January, so that you have them ready to go and won't need to wait.

2.  If your team is going to fundraise, start planning now.

Answers to some commonly asked questions:

1.  How many players should my team bring?
We have a minimum team requirement of 14 players.  We have found that bringing 18 is not too many.  The ideal number has turned out to be 16.  This is not only for training, but also because at night, we will split your team into 2 teams to play tournament games, which is extremely difficult with fewer than 14.  Coaches have worried that bringing 16 or 18 would mean that players would not get enough repetition in training. We have found that with the amount of volleyball packed into a few short days, the extra players help with the overall quality of play, especially as fatigue and injuries become factors.   Also, as you know, the High School players will often face schedule conflicts and potential injuries between January and July--- so just remember that having 18 sign up in January doesn't necessarily mean you will still have 18 in July when you come to camp!

2.  What are the times of the camp?
Camp will run for the first 2 days from 9am-9pm.  Dorm check in will begin at 7am for the resident teams. Players should be at the Arena no later than 8:40am and the HS coaches will have their first meeting beginning at 8:50 am on the first day at the Arena.

The last day will run from 9 am-4pm and will include the final session of the camp tournament games beginning at 1pm.  Closing ceremonies will begin at 3:30 pm.

All parents and families are invited to attend the entire afternoon session.

Campers will be dismissed at 4pm.

3.  Will we be in Team Camp 1 or Team Camp 2?
As the coach, you will have the option to pick which session you would like to attend.  We will keep everyone posted as we receive team packets so that you know when a session is full.
Team Camp 1 is July  24-26 (Saturday-Monday) and Team Camp 2 is July 28-30 (Wednesday-Friday).

4.  What about housing and meals?
You will be able to chose either the commuter or resident option.
Resident teams will need to have a coach or adult chaperone stay in the dorm with the team.  Two coaches are permitted to stay and eat for free.  Residents will check in the first morning at 7 am.  Players will get 2 nights in the dorm and meals.

Commuters will meet at the Arena at 8:40 am on the first day.
They will be provided lunch and dinner each day.

Meals:
Day 1:        No breakfast                   Lunch-all campers/HScoaches    Dinner -all campers/HScoaches
Day 2:  Breakfast-Residents only   Lunch-all campers/HScoaches    Dinner-all campers/HScoaches
Day 3:  Breakfast-Residents only   Lunch-all campers/HScoaches

5.  How much do we have to pay right now? The Team Camp packet is not complete until we have all applications, payment and the majority of all medical forms.  We understand the cost of camp will be a burden to many families especially in this economy. We are working on a plan to accept tuition payments over several months.
We are asking for a $2000 down payment with the applications and paperwork.
On May 1st, 50% of the balance will be due and the final payment will be made on June 20th.

6.  Should the HS Coaches attend the whole camp?
Our team camps are designed to provide the players with the instruction and environment to learn volleyball, but our hope is that as coaches you will be with your team for the entire camp.  We will have 2 staff coaches for each HS team during camp.  Also, we have scheduled a rotation so that Jim will be able to be with your team for at least one of the training sessions.  Jim and our staff coaches will work with you as HS coaches to ensure that you understand why we are teaching what we do; as well as how you can continue to teach these systems with your teams during the fall season and beyond.

7.  What if we need to add or drop players before camp?
This actually is a pretty common occurence, and one that will be ok.  We have a 14 player minimum but we understand that kids' schedules change.  As long as you keep the 14 player minimum, we are able to add or delete as necessary, obviously the sooner the better.  Any added players will still need the signed application and proof of physical, but we can also internally transfer the tuition money to make that part easier and not have a withdrawl fee.  We are NOT able to refund any money to any player once camp starts because we have already paid for meals and housing.
